Transmission

Jasper Engines and Transmissions is proudly announcing their newly expanded availability of remanufactured GM 6T40/45/50 FWD and AWD transmissions. These 6-speed transmissions are electronically controlled and available for a variety of GM vehicles.

Jasper Engines & Transmissions is proud to announce that they are now offering gas and diesel turbochargers for a variety of vehicles. JASPER is always striving to provide its customers with new innovative products. These turbochargers are now easily accessible as they can be purchased over the counter.

Do you own a Buick LaCrosse or Enclave? What about a Chevrolet Traverse or Camaro? Owners of these vehicles as well as Cadillac CTS and GMC Acadia are in for a treat! Jasper has announced that they have expanded the availability of its remanufactured GM 3.6L Product Line. The release of the GM 3.6L DOHC engine is the first for Jasper to be offering a GDI unit with injectors inside. No longer will you have risk damaging seals when installing injectors, ensuring that you will save money in the long run.

It is a law that independent automotive repair shops can maintain and service your warranty. All consumers are protected by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which is enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). It prohibits a manufacturer from voiding the new vehicle's warranty or a vehicle's extended warranty because service was performed by a Non-Dealer/Independent Repair shop.

Per the FTC, “It's illegal for a dealer to deny your warranty coverage simply because you had warranty work or routine maintenance or repairs performed by our automotive shop. Routine maintenance can include anything from oil changes, tire rotations and belt replacement, to fluid checks, flushes, new brake pads, and inspections.” It is also important to note that the “Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act makes it illegal for a company to void your warranty or deny coverage under the warranty for the simple cause that you used an aftermarket or recycled part.”

One of the major perks of bringing your vehicle to an independent repair shop is the ability to make your money go further. Many times, warranties will have a limit or a deductible. Our goal is to make your warranty work for you.

Lastly, If you are on the fence about whether or not to purchase an AFTERMARKET or EXTENDED warranty. We suggest opening a savings account for your car and putting back money for possible breakdowns. While warranties are great the limitations can sometimes outweigh the benefits.

Did you know that Remanufacturing is Recycling? Have you considered how your decision to make a major repair to your vehicle affects our environment? We have researched how much energy JASPER utilizes in the remanufacturing process and compared it with information from the Argonne National Lab, a research center for the U.S. Department of Energy.

By averaging the curb weight of three vehicles: a Mercedes-Benz W126, a Hummer H2, and a Toyota Prius, a determination was made on the average amount of energy required in manufacturing vehicles. Energy usage at JASPER, per drivetrain component, was figured and, on average, only 1% of the energy is consumed in remanufacturing a drivetrain component in comparison to manufacturing the entire vehicle. That is an energy savings of nearly six tons of coal or 1008 gallons of crude oil. Rather than replacing their vehicles, our customers, by purchasing JASPER remanufactured engines, transmissions, and differentials saved enough energy in 2007 to power an estimated 598,000 households, or every residence in a city the size of Washington, D.C., for an entire year!
